1st Floor

Library North is home to many other campus departments and student services, including IT and the Toro Learning and Test Center! 

You can only get to floors in the North building by using the lobby elevator.

You can request books from the CSUDH Library and other libraries using CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan! Your requested items will be available for you to pick up 24/7. Library lockers are located on the West side of the library on the first floor, outside the sliding doors that lead from the library's North building along the walkway to LaCorte Hall.

When you find a book you want to check out in OneSearch, be sure to sign in with your CSUDH username and password. Then, use the request button to place your request. Your book will be ready to pick up in the library lockers in about 2-5 business days.

When the library computer space is full, you can find more computers on the 1st floor in Library North G149. From the elevators, head South and follow the signs toward the right of the hallway.

As promised, here's a sneak peek behind the scenes!

The library holds many other books that we can't fit on the shelves upstairs. The handles on each shelf create compact storage so we can fit more books and journals in the 1st floor basement.

If you find a book in the OneSearch that says "University Library Storage," you can still request it and we'll get the book for you!

The 1st floor also houses storage for the Gerth Archives. Temperature controlled and cold storage spaces are important to preserving some of our more fragile collections!
