Adding Library Resources to Your Course

by Tessa Withorn on 2022-01-11T15:36:00-08:00 | 0 Comments

Right now you’re probably starting to build out your course in Blackboard for the Spring semester. As we prepare for remote instruction, why not add library resources to support our students online?

It should only take a few minutes to set this up for your course. Blackboard course with add menu item and web link highlighted.

1.    Add a web link to your course navigation
2.    Name the link Library How-To
3.    Add the link: https://libguides.csudh.edu/research/how-to

That’s it! Students will now have easy access to videos, tutorials, and other guides that will help them understand the research process and find answers to their questions about choosing a topic, using search tools, finding various types of sources, reading and evaluating sources, and citing and writing about their research.

Fun fact: In a recent study, most students found the library how-to guides helpful and some noted that they wished they knew about them sooner. Highlighting these resources at the beginning of the semester will help students prepare for their upcoming research.

We also recommend adding the following statement about the library to your syllabus:

University Library
