Today marks the 10th day following the brutal, senseless murder of George Floyd. His and the other recent murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and far too many others in the last decade, amplify the pervasive and ubiquitous problems Black people face daily due to structural racism and inequality in our country. Owing to the fact that this campus was borne out of similar struggles related to Blacks, with the Watts Rebellion, as well as our campus’ deep roots in social justice and equity, we feel it appropriate and compelling for us to do what libraries do:  inform and educate by  identifying works that illuminate and elevate the dilemmas and solutions around racism, equality, white privilege, the Black experience, anti-racism and other relevant intersections.
