Accessing Research After Graduation

Workshop Information

Congratulations graduate! We’re so excited for you! But did you know that when you leave CSUDH, the access you've enjoyed to many research databases will come to an end? So what happens when you have a need for quality research after graduation for an internship or career, but aren't enrolled in a university? Google Scholar is great, but only gets you so far before you run into a price tag. Thankfully, more and more researchers are making their work available to all for free, and we can help you find it. Attend this drop-in workshop to learn strategies for finding quality research and information post-graduation using Open Access tools. Specifically you'll learn more about:

  • Freely available scholarly resources such as the Directory of Open Access Journals, PubMed Central, and SocArxiv

  • Setting up alerts for journals in your field to stay informed

  • Tech tools to find freely available versions of articles as you search

All workshops will be held in Library South 2021A, near the computer stations and no reservations are required.

  • April 27th 4-5pm
  • May 1st 11:30-12:30pm
  • May 2nd 10-11am
