The CSUDH Library has many places and resources available to use, from assistive technologies to study rooms

Group Study Rooms

Currently enrolled students can check out a room by visiting the Research Help & Service Desk, on the 2nd floor of Library South . Please note that in order to use the study rooms all students in the group must present their CSUDH photo IDs (or student ID number with government-issued ID) and sign an agreement. You can reserve a room online up to fourteen days (two week) in advance.

2nd Floor Rooms

3rd Floor Rooms

  • Rooms 3009, 3011, 3017, 2019, 3041, 3043, 3049, 3051
  • Seats 3 - 8 people; wheelchair accessible
  • Available for Group Study
  • Groups of 1-2 person(s) are available in rooms 3009, 3011, 3049, 3051 during flex hours 9am-12pm, Monday-Thursday

Equipment Available

All rooms are equipped with a table, chairs, a whiteboard, and power sockets.

Rooms 3011-3049 have a projector (connected via VGA; check out an HDMI adapter when checking into the rooms)

Rooms 3009 and 3051 have a computer and projector.

Room Capacity

Please wait until your entire group is present before occupying the room. Make sure you double check the minimum occupancy requirements for each room.

Additional rooms for 1 - 2 people are available through the IT User Services Help Desk on the first floor of Library North. Visit LIB 1531 or call (310) 243-2504.

Eligibility:

  • Rooms may only be used by currently enrolled CSUDH students, and are intended for student study related purposes only. Full names and Campus ID cards or ID numbers must be provided for all participants.
  • Faculty and staff are prohibited from using library group study rooms; please see the library reservations policy for reserving other library spaces.

Reservation Times

  • Students are allowed to make one (1) reservation per day
  • Students may make reservations up to fourteen (14) days in advance
  • Reservations are for no longer than 3 hours.
    • Groups may renew their room is no one is waiting.
    • Reservations may be booked in fifteen-minute increments.
  • Reservations must start and end between normal posted building hours.
  • Reservation cancellations can be done online, in person, or by phone/email.
  • Spaces will be held for 15 minutes after the reservation time then released to the next group waiting.
  • Groups will not be permitted into a room within one hour of closing.
  • Group study rooms close 30 minutes before closing time.  Please gather your belongings and prepare to leave the building at the appropriate time.
  • Food and smoking are strictly prohibited.
  • Lights must remain on at all times; windows may not be covered and materials may not be posted on windows or walls.
  • Maintain a low to moderate noise level – rooms are not soundproof.
  • Do not remove or bring in additional furniture.
  • Users are responsible for the condition of the room. Report any previous damage to room/equipment to the Technology & Logistical Services Office immediately upon discovery of the damage.
    • For rooms with white boards only use markers that are supplied in the room. Other markers (even other dry erase markers) may stain the PolyVision surface.
  • Leave the room clean and be sure to collect personal items.
    • Group Study Rooms: Wipe down the whiteboard, lock and close the door.
  • Students found using the collaboration rooms for anything other than group work are subject to loss of future reservation privileges.
