24/7 Library Locker Service for Physical Materials

We're excited to announce the start of our Spring 2021 physical request services for materials from the CSUDH University Library, CSU+, and Interlibrary Loan! The information below is also available through our FAQ on our Library Lockers website

Lockers are located on the west side of the library on the first floor, outside the sliding doors that lead from the Library's north building to the walkway to LaCorte Hall. Need more details? Visit our FAQ with a map and other information about the lockers.



Placing Requests

Requesting books from the CSUDH collections and from CSU+ works the same way. You can either log into OneSearch right away, or log in when you have found the items that you want to request. The steps below are for logging in after you've started searching and found a book you want to request. 

1. Search for your item in OneSearch:


2. Click on the title of the print book that you want to request.

3. Sign into your library account using the Sign in for more options button.

4.Once you're signed in, click on the Request link that appears.

5. If you don't need it after a certain date, fill in the Not needed after field. Click Request from CSUDH (2-5 business days) in the bottom right-hand corner of the form to submit your request information. The pickup location will be 24/7 Library Lockers. 

6. The form will complete and display information about the acceptance of the request.

7. Return to your search or start a new search to exit the page.

Picking Up Materials

Wondering what's happening once you place that request?

Wait for our response. You'll get two email confirmations about your materials:

  • Your checkout receipt - Books are checked out to you before they go in the locker.
  • Your locker confirmation code - Use the confirmation code - either the numerical code or the QR code - to unlock your assigned locker space.
    • Wait for the code before coming to campus! This is for your health and safety, as well as for the health and safety of Library employees who are providing this service.

An account with Luxer One, the locker provider, is created for you automatically when you make your first request. Visit our FAQ about how to update your Luxer One account, optionally download the app for your smartphone (not required to use this service), and indicate any accessibility needs you may have regarding the placement of your items when they arrive.

Items are held for one week before they are removed and returned to the stacks or their home library.

Eligibility & Other Details

  • At this time, only currently-enrolled CSUDH students, faculty, staff, and administration can request items for delivery through our contactless locker system.
  • Please note that items are checked out to you before they are placed in the locker. This means that if you check out a course reserve item, the clock is ticking on your loan! Make arrangements to pick up your time-sensitive items as quickly as possible to maximize your time with them.
  • We are lending Course Reserves materials for a one-week checkout only. No renewals or extensions on holds are available.
  • In order to enable this service as quickly as possible, we are not able to create or maintain "hold lists" at this time. Requests for high-demand materials will be first-come, first-serve.
  • Returns are subject to quarantine. If you are requesting a high-demand item, please be aware that you may have a 3-4 business day delay before it is available for you to pick up from the locker service.
  • Please allow a minimum of 2 business days for CSUDH book requests to become available for pickup. For example, if you place a request on Saturday, it will not be processed and available for you in the lockers until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. If the item is in quarantine, particularly a high-demand course reserve item, allow an additional 2 business days at a minimum for your request to be processed.
  • Please allow a minimum of 1-2 weeks for CSU+ book requests to become available after you have placed your request. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, most CSU libraries have limited staffing available for this service. Books are placed into a 4-day quarantine upon arrival for staff health and safety.
  • You can also place requests for books outside of the CSU Libraries via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Please allow a minimum of 1-2 weeks for ILL book requests to become available for pickup. You will receive an email when they are ready for pickup from the lockers.
