Explore Our New Database - Scopus!

Have you checked out our new database, Scopus?

Scopus is a "citation index" meaning that while it doesn't always have the full-text to resources it is a very comprehensive index of the latest and greatest research in health, science, social science, and select humanities disciplines. Its resources come from over 5,000 distinct academic publishers and total over 22,000 journals, books, and conference papers. When we say comprehensive - we mean comprehensive! As with any index, if you don't see the full-text in the database you're searching using the "Find it at CSUDH" button to track it down.

Scopus also updates its index weekly (and sometimes daily!) which makes it perfect to keep up with the latest research by setting automated alerts for a particular author, search term, publication, or other search criteria.

Set up alerts

1. Create an account using your CSUDH email address
2. Conduct a search
3. Above the Search results, click  Set alert
4. Enter your email address and select the frequency for your alerts

Find CSUDH Publications

Our favorite feature in Scopus is seeing all the great work published by CSUDH faculty and students indexed. Explore on your own what CSUDH authors have written by using the "Affiliation" search option in the dropdown menu.

Already in 2020, CSUDH researchers have 55 publications indexed in Scopus! Of these publications, 12 are made available to the public through open-access publishing and cost nothing to the reader expanding the reach of CSUDH research around the world.

Here are a few of those articles:

• Sociology Professor Dr. Keilin Li and colleagues published "Associations between obesity and neighborhood socioeconomic status: Variations by gender and family income status" in the journal SSM - Population Health.
• Child Development Professor Dr. Megumi Kuwabara and colleagues published "Cultural differences in in visual contents in picture books" in the journal Frontiers in Psychology.
• Biology Professor Dr. Terry McGlynn and colleagues have a forthcoming article "Local- and landscape-scale variables shape insect diversity in an urban biodiversity hot spot" in the journal Ecological Applications.
