A Research Guide for School Leadership Program

Meet with a Librarian

As the biology librarian I would love to meet with you at any point in your research process! Use the buttons under my profile page to find an appointment or e-mail me directly with your questions. If my schedule doesn't work with yours all of the librarians can meet with you; you can find their appointment schedulers at the bottom of our Research Help webpage.

What to bring for an appointment:

  • Your class syllabus and assignment details
  • Any research you've found so far, or other work you have completed (such as a rough draft if you're at that stage)
  • Your questions :-)

How to make the most of your appointment:

  • Share your research topic and assignment with me in advance. The more detail the better! There's a place to write all that down in the appointment scheduler.
  • Think about what questions you have or where you need additional assistance. For example: Are you having trouble translating your research question or hypothesis into keywords? Do you need help evaluating the sources to find to see if they are scholarly? Do you need help finding statistics? Or do you need help with ASA citation style?
  • Come on time with your materials and note-taking supplies.

Where are the appointments:

  • In-person: Most librarians (including me!) are located near the Research Help Desk on the South/new side of the library by the elevators. Check-in at the desk so our research help staff can let us know you're here. I may be in another appointment or meeting but will come out to greet you at your appointment time.
  • Online: We all offer online appointments using Zoom. Before your appointment, the librarian will send you a link to you private Zoom meeting. You'll need speakers and a microphone for your computer or other electronic device.
