If you're itching to return your library books, wait no longer! The CSUDH University Library has reopened our bookdrops.

When: Now!

Where and how: 2 bookdrop locations for your convenience.

1. Island next to the electronic vehicle charging stations, at the entrance to the library's main loading dock:

2. Mancillas Courtyard, next to the emergency exit door on the north side of the patio:

What if I can't come to campus?

Don’t worry! If you live near another CSU campus, you may be able to return your book to one of their bookdrops for later check-in at our library. You can also mail the book back to us. Please contact Library User Services with any questions and to get the proper mailing information at circulation@csudh.edu or (310) 243-3712.

How will I get notified that my book is received and returned?

Staff will empty bookdrops at least once per week. Items will be quarantined for health and safety for a period of time before they are checked in. You will receive an email notice when it is checked in and the item is removed from your record. You can also review your library record to see if you have any CSUDH or CSU+ books checked out by logging into My Library Account. If you have an interlibrary loan item, you can review the status of your account by logging into your Interlibrary Loan Account.

Is the Library building open?

No, the building is currently closed. If you choose to visit campus to return your books, please remember that most campus buildings remain closed and locked, so please plan accordingly.

What Library services and resources are available while the building is closed?

While the Library building is closed, we’re open online, including 24/7 research support! Visit our Online Support page for details on all of our continuing services, including ebooks, articles, and Interlibrary Loan for e-resources.

I still have some questions. Where can I get more help with returning my books or my library account?

If you have any questions about the return process, please contact Library User Services at circulation@csudh.edu or during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) at (310) 243-3712. For research help, please contact the Research Help Desk at ask@csudh.libanswers.com, or visit our website for chat support 24/7.
