ZCCM /LCCM Courses

What are ZCCM/LCCM Courses?

  • ZCCM stands for Zero-Cost Course Materials.
    • Courses with no cost for required materials.
    • Instructors use or create freely available resources (e.g., open textbooks, video lectures, journal articles, etc.)
    • Students pay $0 for course materials, i.e. they are free!
  • LCCM stands for Low-Cost Course Materials
    • Courses with affordable materials
    • Instructors ensure total cost of textbooks/ course materials is no more than $40
    • Focus on keeping resources budget-friendly

How to Find Zero-Cost Courses

Check if any of your courses use affordable materials by looking for the ZCCM or LCCM icons in the course schedule. If it is not considered a zero cost course, check your syllabus or ask your professor if there are free resources/ versions of the course material available at the university library or anywhere else.
