An important part of the Gerth Archives' mission is to support undergraduate and graduate teaching. Archivists are available to teach class sessions on primary source literacy skills and concepts, consult on assignments that encourage the use of primary sources for research, and provide general orientations to the Gerth Archives.
Classroom Instruction
Archivists are available to teach sessions on primary sources literacy instruction skills and concepts integrated into a course. We partner with faculty to develop a classroom experience tailored to a particular assignment or course emphasizing transferable concepts. In addition to instruction sessions, faculty are welcome to consult with us on assignments which encourage the use of primary sources and to place holds on materials for particular class assignments for use in our reading room.
Tours
We are available for general tours or orientations to the Gerth Archives. We also provide current exhibit tours. Please contact us for a tour.
