About the Library

Here you can find more about the library, its mission, its people, hours and events, policies, FAQs, and feedback to the library.

Use of Individual Workstations

The University Library provides computer workstations to support the scholarly activities of CSUDH faculty, students, and staff. Priority use of library computer workstations is for members of the CSUDH community who are conducting academic research.

Please be sensitive to the public nature of shared computer workstations and do not:

  • Display messages, images, or sounds that could create an atmosphere of discomfort or harassment for those around you.
  • Display or transmit images or messages containing obscene, offensive, or discriminatory material.
  • Display or transmit content that is in violation of state or federal law or university policies.

Additionally, please do not make any attempt to damage computer equipment or software, alter software configurations, or conduct any malicious or illegal activities using the university’s equipment.

Username and Passwords

CSUDH username and passwords are required in order to log onto the library computers. It is prohibited to share or allow others to use your username and password to log onto the library workstations.

Printing & Copying Refunds

The University Library provides cash refunds in the following situations:

  • At the copiers
    • When the coin box attached to the copier takes the patron's money but does not make the copies.
    • When the copier jams or does not produce the copies after the patron has put money in the coin box.

Please ask for assistance at the Course Reserves Desk, which is adjacent to the copy room on the library’s main floor.

  • At the print stations
    • A refund will be given only if there is an error caused by the computers or printers. This is rare because even if the printer jams, once the jam is cleared, the print job will proceed. No refund will be given if the person made a mistake in printing or what was printed was not what was expected. Instead of a refund, a reprint using the printer or a departmental printer may be made at the discretion of the Technology Checkout Program supervisor on duty at the time.

Change

The library does not provide change.

The Wells Fargo ATM located in the Loker Student Union next to the Bookstore dispenses $1 and $5 bills that can be used in the library’s print and copy machines. Bank fees may apply.
